Well I have lasted a week. I am learning what to do and what not to do – but sometimes I forget. However chewing through Gillian’s foot pedal lead was clearly not popular. Lucky the nice people up the road at Parade Radio managed to repair it!
There is a great lady hear called Auntie Nettie who tries to teach us tricks for our afternoon snack. However I find it difficult to sit for more than a second or two. I am better at bouncing up and down for my gravy bone treat.
We sometimes have visitors and I am looking forward to following the example of my esteemed predecessor Muppet who as a puppy, when meeting a solicitor who came to the office, widdled on his shoe. I can do that – I did it to Master the other day. Now there is a guy called John Guthrie from Dawson Hart next door who I hear comes round???
Lawson Commercial have just been instructed to re-market the former Craft Buddies shop at Post Office Court, next to the Courtyard Coffee Shop and adjoining the Post Office in Uckfield. Craft Buddies have traded in the town for many years,. Originally having premises in a little shop in Grange Road, the business moved to Post Office Court some 5 years ago. At the same time they set up an internet sales site and this has proved to be enormously successful. The lease at Post Office Court has now come to an end and the proprietor has decided not to renew but to concentrate on internet sales. This highlights the fact that if the public want to keep these type of shops in the High Street they have to be used and is perhaps another example of the major impact the internet is having on general retail.
The shop does, however, now offer a marvellous opportunity for another small business to come into the town. It has excellent window frontage adjoining the Courtyard Coffee Shop and has some 430 sq ft of trading area. A new lease is available at a very competitive rent of £9,000 pa. So far in 2012 the demand for shops in Uckfield has been very good and everything we have been offering has quickly gone under offer. Thus we are hopeful that this shop will not remain available for very long.
Hi. My name is Cleo and my pal Toffee and I have just joined the Team at Lawson Commercial. I am supposed to be a collie x husky but although my dad is certainly a husky my mum does not look like a true collie, more a white lurcher so I think I’m a bit of a mixture. However I am sure you will agree I am cute.
Toffee is a bit older than me at 9 months and is a chocolate labrador x husky. She is also quite a lot bigger but she has great ears for chewing and doesn’t seem to mind when I jump on her although she is sometimes a bit rough when she bowls me over.
She came from Kit Wilson which is an animal rescue centre near Uckfield. We are getting on really well together and are learning the ropes of being office dogs from old timers Bart and Barney although they can be a bit grumpy and they don’t seem to want to play with me like Toffee does unless it involves ball throwing in the garden.
It is all very exciting but when you are a little pup it is also very tiring so it is a good thing I have a nice basket to sleep in at the Office.
More from me next week.

Lawson Commercial have just been instructed to market a lockup shop in Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells which offers just under 800 sq ft of well fitted retail accommodation plus some very useful basement storage of 435 sq ft and an enclosed courtyard style garden. The premises are available on a new lease, length to be agreed, at £14,000 pa. For full details and to view call Lawson Commercial on 01825 764488.
Lawson Commercial have let premises at Pacemanor Business Centre on the Bellbrook Business Park in Uckfield. Unit 1 comprises just under 2,300 sq ft of accommodation, being predominantly warehousing with a small amount of offices, and was let at close to the asking rent of £14,500 pa. An interesting company specialising in telecommunications has taken these premises. They have a head office in London plus an office in Europe and have decided to open a distribution base in Uckfield. What was particularly pleasing is that this unit did not stay on the market for very long having only come empty at Christmas when the previous lease expired. To find someone new and get the deal signed within 6 months shows that there is still good demand in the marketplace for the right sized unit sensibly priced.
Lawson Commercial have just been asked to market Suite C, Arun House in Office Village, River Way, Uckfield. This development of office suites has always proved popular with occupiers being built at the start of the 1990s and being right in the heart of Uckfield town centre. The suites are arranged in an attractive courtyard style with brick elevations under tiled roofs.
Arun House is a block of the three smallest suites and it is very rare for one to come available. They are ideal for someone who wants a smart modern office but does not need a huge amount of accommodation. It is arranged on 2 floors being around 700 sq ft , has 3 car parking spaces and is just the job for a business that wants to present a good, smart. modern image. Call us today for full information and to view.
Lawson Commercial have been instructed to find a tenant for some former farm buildings on the outskirts of Crowborough.
