Following the expansion of Triple R Engineering from Squires Farm Industrial Estate at Palehouse Common to the Bell Lane Industrial Estate in Uckfield we have let their old premises at Squires Farm for their landlord.
This workshop/industrial unit of just under 4,000 sq ft with a useful compound has been taken by Blackboys Service Station Ltd for their new workshop & MOT centre. After some refurbishment they will be opening shortly.
We are very pleased once again to be one of the sponsors for this great music festival which starts tomorrow and runs for 4 days.
The Festival includes a wide variety of bands and, contrary to what some people think, it is not all gloom & doom music. Our partner Chris is especially looking forward to Robbie McIntosh who is playing at the Civic Centre on Saturday evening. He is a well known and respected guitarist who plays with Paul Macartney, The Pretenders and Mark Knoefler to name but a few – and he is bringing along some friends!! Chris also likes Red Butler who are playing on Friday evening, again at the Civic Centre.
We just hope the weather holds too for the afternoon and evening sessions at The Highlands Inn on Sunday.

We are delighted to sponsor the Brighton Film Quartet performing Soundscape this Saturday evening at Holy Cross Church as part of the Uckfield Festival. This combination of film and music performed in such a venue promises to be an amazing experience.
Stunning film footage screened to a live performance of heart-stoppingly beautiful music… cinematic with a dash of classical & a minimalist twist. A huge hit in the Spiegeltent at this year’s Brighton Festival. Think “The Piano” and “Amelie”. If you like Nyman and Einaudi or film soundtracks, you’ll love this original work by Brighton composeress and pianist Penny Loosemore. An experience of sheer escapism with this exceptionally talented quartet of piano, clarinet, cello and violin – the only one of its kind in the UK.
Tickets still available.

Congratulations to Sharon Douglas and Martin Sergison who today opened their new cheese shop at 168 High Street Uckfield.
Our partners Chris and Julia Lawson attended a launch party on Saturday evening where the Mayor Louise Eastwood cut a ceremonial ribbon and received a cheese selection basket as a Thank You.
A delectable selection of cheeses and other nibbles was on offer to taste, including an unusual black cheese, as well as a glass of Prosecco.
A considerable amount of work has gone into refitting the shop for the new business and what a fantastic job they have made of it. Do give it a try. Much of the produce is locally sourced.
Lawson Commercial have let the old Quentin Press premises on the Ghyll Road in Heathfield.
This former print building comprised just under 21,000 sq ft of space with over 50 car parking spaces. As it was constructed into the side of the hill there was just under 16,000 of manufacturing area together with over 5,000 sq ft of offices at a higher level. The premises have been acquired by Urban Jump Ltd who have obtained planning consent to convert the building into a trampolining and children’s activity centre and propose a programme of extensive refurbishment.
There is a strong need for activity centres for young people in this area. Not only will Urban Jump be offering trampolining they will also offer other activities. We are told there will be a Ninja facility, whatever that means but our young negotiator Steve seems keen about this. There will also be a cafe & viewing area plus other ancillary activities.
Partner Chris Lawson, who regularly attends 4N Networking meeting around Sussex, went to a special meeting of the 4N Networking Group which was addressed by national director Michael Nagles.
The meeting was held at Holy Cross Priory in Cross-in-Hand.
As someone with a keen interest in heritage buildings in Sussex, being a long term supporter of Sussex Heritage Trust, Chris was pleased to visit this magnificent building with a most impressive hall and architecture generally.
Michael spoke to an audience of over 30 people about the benefits of networking and how 4N could help businesses in this part of Sussex.
