Two Brand New Industrial Units Available at Ringmer

Two brand new industrial units are almost completed at the Shortgate Industrial Park on The Broyle at Ringmer close to the A22 junction at Halland.

These steel framed buildings are fully insulated and with electric roller shutter doors. Each unit is just under 2,500 sq ft and, being adjoining, they are available separately or together as one large unit of around 5,000 sq ft.

Each unit is on offer to rent for £17,250 pa or together for £32,500 pa. There are very few new industrial buildings available in Sussex currently so this is a great opportunity to secure a good quality brand new building which you can occupy in just a few weeks time.

Large Open Yard Available Close To Uckfield

Lawson Commercial have been instructed to market a property which is something of a rarity but often sought after.  A large open yard has become available on the Squires Farm Industrial Estates, close to Uckfield, which is ideal for vehicle or plant storage.

It comprises some 25,000 sq ft of fenced yard with water & power available.  A short 3 year lease is available, or a longer term may be considered, at a rent of £30,000 pa.  This an ideal opportunity and one which is not often found in this part of Sussex.  There are currently a number of containers and a quality mobile building suitable as an office together with a toilet facility on site which can be included if required subject to negotiation.

There is also a small industrial unit close by of some 1,800 sq ft including 355 sq ft of storage ideal for light or heavy industrial activities available to rent at £12,500 pa.

Friends of Sussex Hospices Summer Concert

Lawson Commercial partners Chris and Julia attended last Saturday one of their favourite events of the year, the Friends of Sussex Hospices Summer Concert which this year was held at Framfield Grange.

Prior to the concert along with other attendees, we enjoyed a picnic in the supper marquee with guests Angela Robinson,  Angela being a partner at Warners solicitors, and her husband Andy, a local judge. Sea Cadets were on hand to help ferry picnic goodies to and from the car park and to serve champagne during the interval.

This is a tremendous annual event which Lawson Commercial are proud to help sponsor and which raises a significant sum for this worthwhile charity who support 12 hospices in East & West Sussex.

This year’s entertainment was provided by The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain who gave us an amazing concert. Not only were they great musicians and singers but their humorous comments kept us all spell bound. Never have we heard Silver Machine by Hawkwind played in quite that way before and their ability to sing 7 different songs from a variety of genres all at the same time and still sound good was fantastic. If you get an opportunity to see them live don’t miss it.

Well done to Kathy Gore, chairman of Friends of Sussex Hospices, and her Team for running another splendid and well organised event.

The Friends started in 1995 and since then some £2.3 million has been raised and distributed by them to the various hospices. The previous 12 concerts have raised just under £820,000.

Delightful Character Shop Available

Lawson Commercial have been instructed to market a delightful Grade II listed character shop in the well known and attractive village of Mayfield.

It is located in a very prominent position opposite Mayfield school. The premises have a wealth of exposed beams throughout and would be ideal as a gift shop as well as a wide variety of other businesses.. There is a sales area of 345 sq ft plus a rear lobby/store with a tea station and cloakroom facility.

A short lease is available expiring in March 2021 at a rent of £6,500 pa. Viewing is strongly recommended to appreciate the character and attractiveness of this shop.

A small industrial unit has just become available to let at Knights Business Centre, Squires Farm, Palehouse Common.

The unit has an overall area of 1,482 sq ft, an eaves height of 12’6” and is equipped with an electric roller shutter door. Within the overall area is an office and cloakroom.

Outside a lean-to store of 355 sq ft has been constructed and 3 car parking spaces are included.  A 5 year lease at a rent of £12,500 pa is on offer.

Official Opening of Gunnebo’s New UK Headquarters at Maresfield

Lawson Commercial partners Chris and Julia Lawson were very pleased to be invited to the official opening of Gunnebo Entrance Controls new UK Headquarters at The Gatehouse on the Ashdown Business Park in Maresfield.

Gunnebo’s CEO and President Henrik Lange together with Vice President Robert Hermans welcomed a number of guests to the official launch. The ribbon was cut by former Wealden MP Charles Hendry. There then followed a tour of this superb new facility.

The Gunnebo Group is based in Sweden and employs over 5,000 people worldwide. Its UK subsidiary Gunnebo Entrance Controls has been based in Uckfield for some 30 years and has relocated its headquarters from the Bellbrook Business Park to this smart, prestigious new building which is to be the centre for research and development for the entry control division. It will be a fantastic location to hold customer meetings and seminars as well as for employees working in sales, customer support and technical training.

We were very pleased to have been able to play an important role  in bringing this project to a successful conclusion although it has taken several years to reach this point. When Robert Hermanns came to us originally looking for alternative premises it was always going to be a difficult problem to solve as there were so few buildings available of a suitable size. We worked with the landowner Summerthorne Estates and architect Mike Barber of MJB Architecture to create what we see today.

The new facility is a great asset to the Ashdown Business Park and will no doubt be a major factor in the future growth of Gunnebo who are an important and significant employer in the Uckfield area.

Jacob Rees Mogg Speaks at Lewes Conservative Dinner

Jacob Rees Mogg was the guest speaker at a Lewes Conservative Association dinner hosted by Lewes MP Maria Caulfield held at the East Sussex National Hotel on Thursday 31st May and attended by our partners Chris & Julia Lawson. He spoke extremely eloquently to an audience of over 250 diners including a table of Sussex University students.  Having met Jacob Rees Mogg previously Chris & Julia were pleased to renew the acquaintance when he undertook a walk round of guests during dinner.

Chris Lawson, partner of Lawson Commercial and also President of Uckfield Chamber of Commerce, with Jacob Rees Mogg MP and Maria Caulfield MP.

His knowledge of parliamentary procedure, constitutional history and law is extremely impressive and he puts forward his arguments with great clarity and succinctness. His determination that Britain should once again be in total control of its destiny making its own laws, planning its own affairs without interference from others and his support for the democratic principal is heartfelt. He puts forward his views in a calm and straightforward manner with no reference to notes plus he took a significant number of questions from the floor and answered them which tends to be a novelty from a politician. It was a most enjoyable evening.
