Lawson Commercial partners Chris and Julia attended last Saturday one of their favourite events of the year, the Friends of Sussex Hospices Summer Concert which this year was held at Framfield Grange.

Prior to the concert along with other attendees, we enjoyed a picnic in the supper marquee with guests Angela Robinson, Angela being a partner at Warners solicitors, and her husband Andy, a local judge. Sea Cadets were on hand to help ferry picnic goodies to and from the car park and to serve champagne during the interval.

This is a tremendous annual event which Lawson Commercial are proud to help sponsor and which raises a significant sum for this worthwhile charity who support 12 hospices in East & West Sussex.
This year’s entertainment was provided by The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain who gave us an amazing concert. Not only were they great musicians and singers but their humorous comments kept us all spell bound. Never have we heard Silver Machine by Hawkwind played in quite that way before and their ability to sing 7 different songs from a variety of genres all at the same time and still sound good was fantastic. If you get an opportunity to see them live don’t miss it.

Well done to Kathy Gore, chairman of Friends of Sussex Hospices, and her Team for running another splendid and well organised event.
The Friends started in 1995 and since then some £2.3 million has been raised and distributed by them to the various hospices. The previous 12 concerts have raised just under £820,000.
